NDUGA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Friday, 20 September 2024, the 432 Task Forces, especially the Mbuwa Post led by First Lieutenant Fahrizal, held a Territorial activity entitled "Papua Terang (Bright Papua)." This program is an implementation of installing solar cell lamps in residential areas and on public roads in the Opmu Village, Mbuwa District.
Emphasizing the importance of the Soldiers' role, the Commander of 432 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi, stressed the need for the Task Forces to pay attention to the community's basic needs around the Post. In response, the Mbuwa Post has been actively observing and addressing the developments in its area since the beginning of its duties. Recognizing that lighting public places, especially roads and yards where residents live, is a basic necessity for the Opmu community to facilitate activities at night, 1LT Fahrizal led his Soldiers to install solar cell lamps as public lighting facilities. Prior to this, 1LT Fahrizal discussed with the Opmu Community Figures to determine the location and need for the lighting installation.
While maintaining security as their top priority during the lighting installation, the Soldiers received valuable help and support from the residents. This collaborative effort ensured the smooth and efficient running of the installation process and surpassed the initial planning predictions. As a result, on Friday afternoon, the Opmu residents were provided with adequate lighting facilities. Welcoming the long-awaited public lighting installation, a Community Figure, Mr. Matius Murib, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Praise God, thank you Commander 432. We are delighted that Opmu is no longer dark. God bless TNI."
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 432 Task Forces’ initiative to hold the Bright Papua in Opmu Village. His words: "The 432 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to providing basic necessities services in the Task Area to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the importance of such initiatives. It instills a sense of hope and optimism about their potential to positively impact the region's development, making the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated.
