NDUGA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, 8 September 2024.
The 503 Task Forces, especially Batas Batu led by First Lieutenant Galih Nugroho, invited children from the Alguru Village, Krepkuri District, to participate in a territorial activity entitled "Smart Papua." This activity is implemented to deliver an additional counting lesson for Elementary School (SD) age children.
In his emphasis on the Soldiers, the Commander of the 503 Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces' attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Therefore, 1LT Galih has been observing developments in its area since the duty began. The education factor for SD-age children is one of the essential things in meeting the people's basic needs in the Alguru Village. Based on this attention, on Sunday afternoon after the Sunday Service, 1LT Galih invited SD-age children from the Alguru Village to participate in additional counting lessons delivered directly by the Soldiers.
Before the lesson began, 1LT Galih expressed his thanks for the enthusiasm of the children who visited the Batas Batu Post to take the additional lesson. The children responded happily to the “Smart Papua” activity initiated by the Soldiers. After the lesson, one of the children, Vincent Murib, said "Thank you, Commander 503. I understand the counting now." His words echoed a profound sense of achievement and progress, making the audience feel proud and inspired by the children's learning journey.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 503 Task Forces’ initiative to hold a “Smart Papua” activity at the Batas Batu Post. His words: "The 503 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all community members to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development. It instills profound hope and optimism about their potential to positively shape the region's future. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
