INTAN JAYA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Saturday, 7 September 2024, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Koper Post (preparatory office of Territorial Command) led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, was creative in conducting its duties by sharing National Insight with the children of Mamba Village, Sugapa District. Located in front of the Post, the Soldiers had a chance to meet face-to-face with some children passing the Post.
Emphasizing the Soldiers' role, the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ inclusive Social Communication with all parties in the community around the Post. This message was not just words but an immediate call to action, a reassurance of the Soldiers' unwavering commitment to the community. Therefore, the Soldiers have professionally prepared lesson material for children passing in front of the Post. The material was prepared in anticipation of interacting and communicating with children while implementing the task. Furthermore, the Soldiers also prepared several pieces of stationery to be distributed during the interaction, a testament to their dedication to the community.
When several children from the Mamba Village passed in front of the Koper Post, the Soldiers invited them to communicate, and the children responded enthusiastically. In the communication, the Soldiers joked and interacted with the children while inserting the lesson material prepared earlier. In response to the presentation, one of the children, Lukas Sondegau, mentioned, "Stay motivated, Papuan Children. Long live TNI." Towards the end of the communication, the Soldiers distributed stationery to the children, and they were greeted with overwhelming joy, a heartwarming sight that brought smiles to everyone's faces.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct social communication through study and distributing stationery to Mamba children. His words: "The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA not only underscores the importance of such initiatives but also highlights the value and importance of the Task Forces' work. It instills a sense of hope and optimism about their potential to impact the region's development positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
