PUNCAK - The Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Saturday, 6 July 2024, the 323 Task Forces Patrol Team conducted security patrols in the Ilaga Utara District, specifically the Mayuberi Village. The Soldiers maximized the patrol by making the long dream of the Mayuberi’s children come true, which was going to school.
Before the patrol began, on the orders of the 323 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, the Mayuberi Post, led by First Lieutenant Yudho, prepared several study equipment as additional provisions for the patrol. The sunny Saturday morning has supported the implementation of patrol, combined with teaching activities to the children in the Mayuberi Village. Upon arrival at the Mayuberi Emergency School, the enthusiastic children who wanted to study were ready to wait for the arrival of TNI Soldiers at the location. Seeing the students' enthusiastic response, the Soldiers immediately took out the supplies they had brought. Equipment including whiteboard, markers, and erasers were immediately put in place. Not long after, the Soldiers distributed free books and stationery to the children who were sitting neatly on tarpaulins as seating mats.
Considering the long distance from the Mayuberi Village to the location of the formal school that the children should be able to enjoy, these children have long dreamed of a time when they can study like children their age. Before the lesson started, 1LT Yudho, who had received teaching training before leaving for duty, led the children in praying for a smooth teaching and learning process that day. After that, 1LT Yudho began the teaching and learning process while asking several light questions about the lesson, all of which were answered well by the Mayuberi children. After finishing the lesson, a child studying, named Yosep Murip, said "Thank you for the books and pencils, Om Tentara (Army Soldier). We are happy to be able to study today. God bless you, Soldiers."
