A Glow of Unity: Ginid Residents Share Meals with TNI Soldiers and Receive Solar Lamps

NDUGA - In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and care, the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, part of the HABEMA Operation Command in Papua, carried out an impactful Social Communication (Komsos) activity in Ginid Village, Nduga District, Papua Mountain Province, on Friday, December 13, 2024. This initiative, aimed at fostering stronger ties with the community, took place alongside the soldiers' ongoing mission to ensure the region's security under the RI-PNG Border Mobilization Operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Inf Ahmad Basir, Commander of Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad, highlighted the importance of inclusive engagement with local communities as a fundamental part of their mission. “Social Communication is not just about securing the area; it’s about building trust and showing our genuine care for the people we protect, ” he remarked.

On that day, Captain Inf Rizky Wicaksono, Commander of the Quary Atas Post, and his team of ten soldiers welcomed Ginid residents to share a meal at the post. The dining session was more than just a meal—it was a moment of connection, filled with meaningful conversations and laughter. To further extend their support, the soldiers distributed 25 solar-powered lamp packages and essential food supplies. These solar lamps were a thoughtful gesture aimed at improving nighttime visibility and safety in the village, where lighting infrastructure is limited.

One resident, brimming with gratitude, expressed their appreciation for the soldiers' efforts. “We are deeply thankful to Satgas 503 for providing us with these gifts. The solar lamps will brighten our paths, and their care makes us feel valued and protected, ” they said.
