YAHUKIMO - The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Saturday, 27 July 2024, during regional security duties, the Marines Task Forces took the time to greet residents who were at the Yahukimo Market, as an implementation of the Territorial activity entitled "Peaceful Greetings for Papua".
The "Peaceful Greetings for Papua" activity is an important program for the Marines Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung. Creativity in creating a safe and peaceful situation in Papua is the main thing that the Task Forces continue to do. With this program, the Purple Beret Soldiers took advantage of their patrol by sending peaceful greetings to the residents they met along the patrol route, especially those who were at the area of Yahukimo Market.
While prioritizing the security aspect, Captain Septian led the Task Forces Patrol Team to shake hands and dialogue with residents they met at the Yahukimo Market. It turned out that the positive creativity was greeted with happy smiles from the residents. While buying merchandise at the Market, the Soldiers greeted the residents. One of them, a young man named Yosef Busup, said, "Shalom, thank you for visiting us. God bless TNI.”
"The creativity of the 6 Marines Task Forces to hold the Peaceful Greetings at the Yahukimo Market is TNI’s implementation to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders in the assigned area to support the acceleration development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
